The Secondary Market
Every artwork on aha! carries a story. The secondary market keeps that story going.
When a collector resells a work through aha!, the original artist earns a royalty. The curator who first championed the piece does too. Provenance stays intact. Value circulates back to the people who created it.
We call these resale artworks Encores.
How It Works
A collector who purchased a work on aha! can list it for resale through three channels.
Gallery Resale
List at your asking price. The work goes live immediately on aha! with full provenance history visible to buyers.
Curator Auction
Consign the work to a curator for inclusion in an upcoming auction. The curator reviews, accepts, and places the work in the right context.
aha! Selects
Submit directly to aha! for curated placement and premium visibility.
Artist Royalties
Every resale on aha! generates a royalty for the original artist. This is automatic. No invoicing, no chasing payments. The artist is paid when the sale closes.
The curator who originally presented the work also receives a royalty, recognizing their role in building the artwork's market.
The Encore Badge
Resale artworks carry the Encore badge, a visible mark of market confidence. Collectors browsing aha! can see which works have sold before and trace their full ownership history through the “Previously on aha!” provenance record.
For Artists
Your work doesn't leave the ecosystem when it sells. aha! tracks every resale, pays your royalty automatically, and keeps your name attached to the work's journey. The secondary market isn't something that happens to you. It's something that works for you.
